James Allen founded his insurance agency in his family's home in 1952. His son, Bob, began working for his father at the conclusion of his service in the United States Navy, and purchased the business when James retired. In 1992 Mary Ellen Allen, Bob's wife, joined the company, and took over the day to day operation of the family firm when Bob was appointed Avon's Safety Director in 2001. We have two pieces of advice for teenage drivers. First, study hard in school since good student discounts can save you between twenty-five and thirty percent on their auto insurance premiums. Secondly, rather than buying a brand new car that will cost thousands of dollars in premiums for full coverage insurance, consider driving an older vehicle that only requires liability coverage at a much more modest cost.

Bob and I are both alumni of Avon Lake High School and still hold season tickets to the football games in the fall. We have lived in this area all of our lives, and are very dedicated to the local community.
