David M. Wayne gained his first exposure to the construction industry through summer jobs while still in high school. When not in the field working, he questioned project managers and estimators in the office about how they liked their jobs. David developed a deep passion for the industry, and after graduating from Purdue University with a degree in Construction Management in 1983 accepted an assignment working for a developer in Dallas, Texas. After the Dallas market began to cool, David moved to the Cleveland area where he founded DMW Construction Management, Inc. in April 1991. We met with David recently, and listened as he provided this overview of the services his company offers;

DMW Construction Management, Inc. is a general contractor and construction manager for commercial projects ranging from medical laboratories to retail developments, offices, and a wide assortment of commercial buildings. I have handled projects for Lubrizol, CSX Railroad, and many private commercial developers.

Depending on how the projects are organized, I will function either as the general contractor or the construction manager. Both positions require in-depth knowledge of the construction industry to handle the estimating, scheduling, and coordinating of the various contractors. I pride myself on building strong personal relationships with both the project owners and the participating contractors, and have built a reputation based on honesty, reliability, and my attention to the details that make each project a success.

I have a very good customer base which provides me with a lot of repeat business. During the past sixteen years I have seen a lot, done a lot, and met a lot of different people, but it is always refreshing to work on a different type of project, face a new challenge, and learn something new every day.
