In August 2003 Ron Stevens founded a company to provide home medical equipment to residents throughout Northeast Ohio. As he became aware of the shortage of sleep labs coupled with the growing trend of physicians to prescribe sleep studies, Ron renamed the firm Remedy Sleep Disorders Center and began to focus solely on providing sleep studies and the equipment needed to treat sleep disorders. We met with Ron recently, and listened as he provided this overview of the products and services available at Remedy Sleep Disorders Center;
Remedy Sleep Disorders Center is an independent sleep lab specializing in the diagnosis of sleep disorders. We test for sleep apnea, narcolepsy, restless leg movement, and a myriad of other disorders. Our lab is an accredited member of the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, and our highly trained technicians and staff are committed to providing excellent customer service. In addition, we also have a showroom featuring C-PAP machines and supplies, such as filters, tubing, and masks, which are available to patients regardless of where they have had their testing performed.
Some of the symptoms of a sleep disorder may be excessive snoring, interrupted breathing while asleep, or simply still being tired after a full night's sleep. When a person experiencing sleep disorders consults with their physician, they are often given a prescription for a sleep study to evaluate their present medical condition. The patient can then choose where they would like their tests performed from the list of hospitals and independent sleep labs recognized by their insurance carrier. We are a recognized sleep with a large network that includes Anthem, Medical Mutual, Medicare, Medicaid, Care Source, United Health, Emerald, and most other major insurance companies.
