When Debbie Davis and daughter Renee began thinking of opening a coffee shop, they started their research by going online. After gathering information about the start-up requirements, they next visited many coffee shops to see for themselves how others were doing the business. One surprising discovery they made was the number of coffee shops that offered drive-thru service. Working through their Realtor, they found a former bank building that was not only perfectly located, but also was configured with drive-thru facilities. On September 4, 2001, Debbie became the founder and owner of Rio Coffee Brewery, Avon Lake's ultimate destination for a great cup of coffee. We visited with Debbie recently, and listened as she outlined Rio Coffee Brewery's offerings;

Rio Coffee Brewery is a gourmet coffee shop featuring five different kinds of coffee every day, in addition to a wide selection of teas and freshly roasted coffee beans. We serve muffins, scones, cookies, luscious cakes, soup, salad, deli sandwiches, breakfast trays, sandwich trays, and deli party trays. We treat our guests as part of our own family, and strive to ensure our products are the best that can be found anywhere.

As a family owned and operated business, we try to make our customers comfortable. While they are enjoying a great cup of coffee or tea, they can peruse a variety of reading materials, such as newspapers, magazines, and books. We have Wi-Fi access available, so they can bring their laptop computers, work on projects, or go online.

We are best known for serving a fantastic cup of coffee. Our coffee beans are extremely fresh, and never more than two weeks old.
