David Helbert, EPSD, CTEP became involved in the financial industry in 1998 as a result of his desire to learn how to create wealth. Clients over the age of fifty who are retired, or within five years of retiring, need to realize they are no longer in the wealth building phase of their lives. We feel that it is our responsibility to help our clients learn how to save money on taxes, eliminate probate courts, eliminate or reduce federal estate taxes, and how to achieve a satisfactory return on their investments without assuming huge stock market risks.
Unlike most financial advisors, our goal is to educate our clients about what they are doing and why they are doing it. For example, we always ask clients why they have a particular brokerage account or product in their portfolio. Many times their response is that they were following the advice of their broker or advisor, and don't really know why they have the account or product in question. We believe it is important for each client to be aware of not only what they have, but why they have it.
We use independent rating companies to run reports on their investments and determine their suitability to their financial goals. If they own a good product and it is working well for them, we want them to keep it. If the independent report show that it is not performing satisfactorily, we can fix it for them. Once new clients discover how much better our recommendations perform relative to those from their previous financial planner, they frequently request that we assist them with other aspects of their financial lives.
We host six seminars per month at various locations throughout Lorain and Cuyahoga Counties.
