Devon Oaks assisted living is proud to be part of Eliza Jennings Senior Care Network, a non-profit organization caring for older adults in the Cleveland area for 120 years. Devon Oaks opened its doors in 2000 in the heart of Westlake on Crocker Road, across from (what is now known as) Crocker Park. We met recently with Executive Director Danielle Maur, Director of Marketing Carrie Cuadrado, and Administrator of Clinical Services Melissa Foldi, and listened as they provided this overview of Devon Oaks:

Devon Oaks is an assisted living community offering a wide range of high quality services and amenities for older adults in a safe and comfortable environment. We are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities, a mark of quality that follows a rigorous process of self-assessment by Devon Oaks staff, residents, and Eliza Jennings Senior Care Network. Founded on a collaborative approach, our resident assistants and nurses, in partnership with physicians and nurse practitioners, maintain an open and consistent care delivery model. We offer physical, occupational, and speech therapy services to assist our residents in living life to their full potential.

Our environment can best be described as "home". Our residents don't lose their independence when they move to Devon Oaks; they actually gain more. We take care of the details, such as cleaning and preparing meals, which leaves them more time to live life as they wish. We offer restaurant-style dining with meal choices and times so our residents can leisurely enjoy their meals at a time most comfortable for them. We maintain a high level of flexibility to accommodate our residents' schedules, rather than expecting them to accommodate ours.

One of the main tenets of our philosophy is to enable our residents to age in place. We have four levels of care, including a secure area for those who need a more structured lifestyle, and end of life care with hospice services right in their own apartment. Magnolia is our specialized approach for individuals with memory issues. With intensive staff training, and a dedicated, secured living area, residents are treated with dignity and given the support needed to maximize independence. We also offer respite care designed to provide caregivers in the community with time off to relax or take care of other responsibilities.
