Larry van der Oord graduated from Ashland University in 1971, and served as a teacher and football coach at Avon Lake High School from 1971 to 1978. Wanting to be self employed, Larry entered the insurance industry in January 1978 and today the Larry van der Oord Agency is a proud member of the Nationwide Insurance family. We met with Larry recently, and listened as he provided this overview of the products and services his agency offers;

Larry van der Oord Agency is a full-line agency offering life, health, property and casualty insurance. We carry automobile and homeowners' insurance, in addition to commercial insurance for small to medium sized businesses. Although we are primarily a one man operation, I am supported by three licensed assistants who pride themselves on providing great customer service.

I represent Nationwide Insurance, the fourth largest insurance company in the United States, and I have been with them since the very beginning. Nationwide is well known for handling each claim promptly and efficiently, and fully stands behind our policyholders whenever they experience a loss.

One of my support staff has been with me for twenty-five years and the other two have been here over ten years. Each of my licensed agency staff members are very experienced in their own right, and are dedicated to providing the best customer service possible.
